Up, Up & Away

Ryan and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary yesterday. When we first got married we talked about going on a cruise or to Hawaii or somewhere amazing on our 10th, but back then we didn't know the reality of marriage, we were just living on love. Of course, we have no time or money to go anywhere spectacular and that was fine with me, I am just happy that marriage is even better than I could have ever imagined it to be. So, we went out to dinner last night, with NO children!!!! What more could anyone wish for?...............Ryan decided to surprise me with an early morning activity today. I really don't enjoy surprises. I will be honest, it is a control thing. I like to know where we are going so that I can make plans and so on. (I do love being surprised at Christmas, though. That's the only time of the year that I expect to be surprised.) But, Ryan would not give in. He just asked that I be ready to go at 5:30 this morning. Our neighbor, Jean (Grandma Jean to my kids), was such a trooper and came over to watch over our sleeping children. We drove to Park City and to my surprise we ended up going on a hot-air balloon ride. It was amazing!!! It is something that I would have never thought of doing, but I am so glad we did. We went up about 11,000 feet and it was a perfect ride. I would go again in a heartbeat. Maybe on our 20th, we'll go hot-air ballooning in Hawaii.
Getting ready to go
Almost there
Let's go!!!
Our group. There were 13 of us in the basket, including the pilot.
Looking up.
Taking off.
Our shadow
Awesome view
Back, safe and sound Our pilot, Logan, popped open a bottle of champagne to celebrate our safe ride. We had the sparkling apple cider instead.
Here is my certificate, it's so official.

I can't believe it has been 10 years...Jordan was only 6 months old when you got married! How much fun! I think Logan should have opted for Cider too since he is the pilot! Good luck to the next people to go up! :)

By the way...listening to 'Ben' brings tears to my eyes!

LOL. They actually only do one ride a day. They only have a 3 hour window in the morning when the currents are perfect for ballooning. I was a little concerned about some of the people in our group who seemed to love champagne at 9:00 in the morning and hoped they would be okay for the ride home.

Myrna was referring to me. Don't worry...I'm a great driver with a little of the bubbly in my system!
