Belated Mother's Day Stuff

Our computer died a few weeks ago, so I haven't been able to blog. It is now working, so I can talk about Mother's Day. I called home to talk to my mom and it always makes me sad to know that my sisters and my brother are all at her house having Mother's Day dinner and I am thousands of miles away from home.
Braxton painted this pictures at school for me. The day that they painted the pictures, Braxton came home from school and told me that they painted all day, but he wasn't allowed to tell me what he painted because it was a surprise. I love it. It now hangs in our living room.
In his class, they also made this book "Advice from your second grader and friends". It's full of things that their moms do well or do to show how much they love them. It is so cute. I couldn't wait to read what Braxton thought I did well as a mom. I was praying that he didn't say, "My mom has really let herself go." Or something like that.
So, here is what he said....
Yes, I am the only one who feeds the fish. I must do this well because we have had the same 2 gold fish for over a year. Braxton brought them home from a birthday party last year and I thought they would be with for a month or two, but no, Silver and Goldie are here to stay.
On Mother's Day, I also thought of Emma's birthmom. Actually, not a day goes by that I don't think of her. We have never met and chances are, we never will. But, I do know her name and it's a name that has been in my prayers everyday for the past 5 months.
I usually think of her when it's just Emma and me and she does something so cute and amazing and I feel a little sad that birthmom is missing out on such precious moments. But, then I am so grateful that she chose life for such a special little spirit so that I can experience these moments. What great kids I have!!!

It's always so sweet when we get the mothers books from the kids! But there is a moment when you hesitate opening. What are they going to say? "My Mom doesn't do anything but sit around all day and blog!" ha ha
